  • Grapefruit

1/3 oz

Citrus paradisii

Peel, Expressed, South Africa

Grapefruit acts as an anti-depressant, antiseptic, astringent, and stimulant. Externally, it can be used as a facial toner, as it stimulates dull, lifeless skin. It can be used to treat herpes. As an inhalant, it relieves anxiety and gives an uplifting feeling. It is also great as an air freshener. It is useful in counteracting hair loss and can be used in baths for poor circulation. Grapefruit is an antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, diuretic, depurative, lymphatic and digestive stimulant and tonic.

Good for a variety of aromatherapeutic purposes such as colds and headaches and as a top note in natural perfumery. It has a short shelf life because it oxidizes quickly.
