Helichrysum diluted in Jojoba oil
Helichrysum italicum
Wild Harvest
Flowers, Steam Distilled, Croatia
Helichrysum is very useful for lung infections and inflammation and is soothing for muscle pain, arthritis, bruises, and is also useful for fevers. It stimulates production of new cells, making it good to use with scar tissue, acne and mature skin. It can be added to sunscreen to help protect from ultraviolet rays. It can help bring someone out of feelings of depression and lethargy, nervous exhaustion and stress. It can also be useful for detoxification after nicotine use.
Our Helichrysum from Croatia is a beautiful, therapeutic essential oil that makes an excellent and regenerative addition to skincare formulas. Its beneficial properties are known to help with wound healing, bruising, scarring, acne and a multitude of skin irritations.
Helichrysum contains the highest known amount of beta diketones in an essential oil. Diketones, found only in Helichrysum italicum, are highly regenerative and are responsible for Helichrysum’s reputation for promoting the formation of new tissue.1 While being well-known for its ability to speed cicatrization (wound healing), and for its antibacterial properties, studies have also shown Helichrysum to help alleviate post-trauma bruising and swelling.2 This calming oil soothes redness and irritation, helps control the appearance of skin blemishes and the appearance of resulting acneic scars,3 and reduces joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis.4,5
Although considered a safe oil, it is best used highly diluted in skin formulas and other therapeutic blends for optimal results. Helichrysum is a well-rounded oil that benefits every skin type and makes an important addition to natural therapy First Aid kits. It is noted that it is most active when used in a synergistic blend with other essential oils.6
