Benzoin has a sweet Vanilla-like odor. It is used for soothing coughs, colic, laryngitis, asthma and lung congestion. It is also useful for poor circulation, gout, arthritis and rheumatism.Topical skin application can help protect dry, chapped skin. It increases skin elasticity, and also has antifungal and antiseptic properties. It is protective emotionally for those who feel lonely, exhausted, anxious or blocked.
