Hyssopus officinalis var. decumbens

Certified Organic

Aerial Parts, Steam Distilled, Hungary

Hyssop has deep healing qualities for rheumatic complaints, bruises, arthritis, circulation problems, fevers, sore throats, and respiratory difficulties (low doses only). Its uplifting effect aids in depression and anxiety. Use sparingly and moderately with other essential oils due to its very strong nature and ketone content. It has been considered a sacred herb for thousands of years, and is used in rituals for cleansing sacred spaces. Hyssop is contraindicated with high blood pressure and individuals with epilepsy.

Hyssop decumbens essential oil is an aromatherapy specialty oil. The common Hyssop (Hyssop officinalis), is an essential oil that contains potentially toxic ketones, and should not be used as a substitute for the less toxic Hyssop decumbens.

Hyssop decumbens is one of the most potent anti-viral essential oils. When inhaled, its sweetly medicinal aroma is said to be very effective in loosening tightness in the chest and in relieving bronchial spasms. It can be safely used with allergies, asthma, and nervous conditions(1). It is a good antimicrobial, even acting against strong strains of tuberculosis and Candida albicans yeast infections(1).

Aromatic Profile: Sweet, herbaceous, warm

Appearance: Colourless to pale yellowy-green liquid

Aromatherapy Uses: Anti-viral, antiseptic, anti-infectious. One of the most potent anti-viral oils, Hyssop Decumbens does not contain potentially toxic ketones found in Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis).

Blending Suggestions: Dilute well and add drop by drop to your blends until desired effect is achieved

Blends Well With: Lavender, Rosemary, Bay, Sage, Clary Sage, Geranium

Safety Considerations: Use in moderation. Avoid if pregnant or epileptic
