Lemon is a wonderful cleanser, relaxant, astringent and antiseptic. It can be used as an insect repellant, can lighten skin pigmentations and can help relieve gout, arthritic and rheumatic pain, as well as reduce a fever. It can also be used to promote circulation and to relieve asthma symptoms. Lemon oil can be phototoxic, and individuals with sensitive and damaged skin should use cautiously.
Our fresh organic Lemon essential oil is the epitome of citrus with its intense lemon-fresh aroma and zesty, tangy/tart top note – sure to lift the spirits and perfect for composing introductory/top notes in natural perfumery!
Citrus limon is native to Asia and is thought to be a hybrid of citron (C. medica) and pomelo (C. maxima).1 Lemon is widely used in food preparation, in perfumes, cosmetics and household products, and for the production of pectin and citric acid.2
Lemon is said to sharpen and aid in focusing the mind3; it has a gentle, calming effect4.
