Marjoram is strongly antiseptic (can be used in place of Tea Tree) and can be used for whooping cough and bronchitis, as well as topically for fungal and bacterial infections. It is also a strong antispasmodic, useful for muscle cramps, headaches and stiff joints. It also aids in calming a hyper-emotional state. Marjoram is an analgesic, antioxidant, antiseptic, digestive, expectorant, fungicidal, laxative, nervine, sedative, stomachic and vasodilator.
Aromatic Profile: Warm, woody, slightly spicy with refreshing herbal notes.
Appearance: Pale yellow or amber liquid
Aromatherapy Uses: Digestive, cardiovascular, and muscle tonic. Blend into bath with Lavender and Mandarin to aid relaxation.
Blending Suggestions: Dilute well and add drop by drop to blends until desired effect is achieved
Blends Well With: Lavender, Rosemary, Bergamot, Chamomile, Cypress, Cedarwood, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus
Note: Blend into bath with Lavender and Mandarin to aid relaxation.
Safety Considerations: Avoid with a history of low blood pressure, during pregnancy and do not use on young children or elderly without advice from a health professional.
