Sen Sib translates to “10 energy lines” in the Thai language, and each line acts as a conduit connecting and moving substances and sensations from one place to another. Each line is a pathway that is either tangible such as tendons and veins, or intangible such as hormones and electrical impulses. These are pathways for vital energy or “prana” to flow. While working the sen lines can be integrated into any other massage treatment, traditionally this is given as a full body treatment. This technique really encourages the body receiving to slow down, opens and removes blocks by applying a focused pressure using the thumb, elbow or palm.
